Web design – The way we like it
There are so many blogs out there telling you the best ways to design/code websites, so we thought we’d put them all together for you. Each Friday we will be posting an article on methods that we like to use when putting our web sites together. We will run through the best programs to use for designing and codingĀ your site, all the techniques used to make your site perform and any useful tips and tricks we love to use here at MP web design.
What we will be covering
The first step of any build is the layout. Once you have all your research into who the company/people are and what they are about you can start getting some good ideas together on how a site should be designed. There a few points to think about here:

Either your client will have given you certain ‘brand colours’ to use or you need to think of some that will work with the idea. We will go through some useful resources for colour picking. - Layout – 1 column, 2 column maybe 3?
There are many methods you can use to help you work out columns including some very useful down-loadable resources which we will go into at a later date. - Typography – Font choices
There are limitations to font usage on the web so a lot of people simply pick the easiest options and go from there, but there are a few other options available these days.
Coding your site
The next step is putting your fantastic wow factored design into code. XHTML and CSS is forever evolving and becoming more and more dynamic every year, drop shadows and rounded corners are just a couple of the things that you can now do in CSS and we will be going through some of the great things you can now do in later posts.
Once you have your site coded up and ready to go live you should first check that all your code is tidy and compliant. This all falls into making the most out of seo.php”>seo for your site.
